Where to get King's Field legally

There is no official download of the main series

Searching for a King's Field ROM, ISO, or browser game lands on third-party sites. None of those are FromSoftware or a platform holder, so this page does not link them and does not embed them. The legal objects are physical discs, a Japanese digital listing that no longer resolves, and two adjacent products that people confuse with the series.

PlayStation discs of the 1994, 1995, and 1996 games, and the PlayStation 2 disc of The Ancient City, are second-hand. PlayStation discs are region-locked. A US console will not run the Japanese 1994 disc without hardware that ignores the region. How to play covers emulators only after you already have a disc to dump.

What the shops actually sell

Wikipedia records a Japanese PlayStation Network release of the 1994 game on 26 July 2007. On 7 Nov 2026 that store page returns 404, so I will not tell you it is still for sale. Eternal Ring, a different FromSoftware game, is on the US PlayStation Store as a PlayStation 4 emulation title at $14.99, and that build also runs on PlayStation 5. It is not a King's Field disc.

Sword of Moonlight is FromSoftware's Windows creation tool from 2000, and it includes a remake of the first game inside the tool. It is a Japanese Windows release, not a Steam page for the series. Steam has no King's Field product. Lunacid, Monomyth, Queen's Domain, and Verho are separate games by other studios.

Second-hand prices, one aggregator

RetroGamePriceGuide summarizes eBay sales and is a single source, checked 7 Nov 2026. It is not an official price. Complete US King's Field (the 1995/96 release): 20 sales, mean $133.56, with 2026 singles roughly $100 to $252 and a sealed copy at $900. Complete US King's Field II: 37 sales, mean $130.76, range about $69 to $265. Complete US The Ancient City: 17 sales, mean $103.43, range about $55 to $160. A Japanese 1994 complete copy shows one sale at $89.99 on 20 March 2026. Box type and the registration card move these numbers a lot, so I do not collapse them into one "the game costs" figure.
