What this series is
King's Field is the first-person dark-fantasy series FromSoftware shipped on PlayStation, starting 16 December 1994, thirteen days after the console's Japanese launch. People search it as King's Field, Kings Field, and Kingsfield. All three point at the same games.
The Japanese record counts four main games, two PSP Additional titles, and the Sword of Moonlight creation tool as the seven-title line, with three feature-phone games beside them. I keep those groups separate so a count of four and a count of ten are not mashed into one number.
Start with the play order if the US and Japanese numbers look like they disagree. Start with where to get a copy if you want a disc, a store page, or a clear answer on PC and Steam.

Verdite2, a static recompilation of the US 1995 King's Field, listed version 0.5.2 on 26 Oct 2026. Verdite3, for the US King's Field II, listed version 0.2.0 on 18 Oct 2026. Both ask you to supply your own dump. FromSoftware's own product list still has no new King's Field.
HowLongToBeat displayed player estimates, each one source with its own sample: the 1994 game 9.5 hours main (n=23), the US 1996 King's Field 16.5 hours (n=28), the US King's Field II 24.5 hours (n=13), and The Ancient City 23 hours (n=30). I do not treat those as official lengths.

FAQ
Is King's Field the same as Kingsfield?
Yes. King's Field is the title on the box. Kingsfield and Kings Field are the spellings people type.
Can I play King's Field in a browser?
There is no official browser version. Legal paths are original discs, a few digital reissues that have come and gone, and your own hardware.
Which game should I play first?
If you want the gentlest on-ramp, The Ancient City on PlayStation 2. If you want release order, start with the Japan-only 1994 game.
