Seath in King's Field

White dragon, black dragon

The lore notes describe Vallad splitting into Seath and Guyra. Seath is the white dragon. High elves treat him as a benevolent god. Guyra is the black dragon you kill at the end of Melanat in 1995, where Seath is mostly a name in the background. The 1996 game is where Seath becomes the antagonist and the last boss, working through John Alfred Forester's body before the castle fight.

Dark Slayer is tied to Seath as the sword's maker in those same notes. The Moonlight Sword is the other heirloom and is not Seath's blade. People collapse the two swords and the two dragons into one symbol. The games do not. Guyra's disc hides the Moonlight Sword behind the black dragon. Seath's disc makes you repair a broken one.

How many years sit between Melanat and Verdite is not settled in the pages I read. Five, ten, and fifteen all appear in retellings. I will not pick a span. The lore page keeps that disagreement in the open.

The name in Dark Souls

Dark Souls has a dragon called Seath the Scaleless. The shared name is real. A shared biography is not something FromSoftware printed. King's Field's Seath is a god to the elves and a possessor of a Forester. The later Seath is a different text. I mention the echo because people search it, and I stop before inventing a family tree across studios' eras.
