Verdite walkthrough (1996)

Detailed public guide

Verdite location index. The regional entries cover caves and branches omitted from this overview.

A road, not a stairwell

Lyle starts at Quist. The route repeated by place guides then runs Ancient Battleground, Garrison Barracks, Forest of Varde, Palace of the Wind, Ralugo, Cave of Shudom, Path of Poison, Lake Noel, Path of Thieves, Cave of the Dwarf, Cason, Field of Ice, Valley of Garan, Ruin of the High Elves, Maze Temple of Orladin, Place of the Beginning, Hill of Prayer, Royal Cemetery, and Verdite Castle. I am listing them in that published order and not claiming every branch is mandatory. The map screen can send you between towns. I still have no source that calls it an automap.

Five element crystals are how magic is learned. Carry that in your head before you sell a crystal because it looks like junk. The Moonlight Sword begins broken. The repair path named in the weapon notes is Hill of Prayer, then the Royal Cemetery, then Verdite Castle. Level 1 is listed at total attack 434 and level 2 at 489. Those figures are this disc only.

Orladin's Key, Seath, and the father

Orladin's Key is the sourced name at the high-elf temple. If you searched "Orlan Key", this is the object. John Alfred Forester appears as a boss while Seath is using his body. Seath, the white dragon, is the last fight. The family line Houser, Jean, Lyle is the reason the 1994 tomb matters, but you can clear Verdite without having played it. The kingdom page is Verdite. The dragon page is Seath.

HowLongToBeat shows 24.5 hours main from 13 reports. That sample is small next to the 30 reports on The Ancient City, so I would not plan a weekend around it. After the castle, Japanese order moves to Heladin in the 2001 walkthrough. US players know this disc as King's Field II, which the game page spells out.
