King's Field IV on PCSX2
What PCSX2 itself requires
PCSX2's setup page asks for Windows 10 or newer, macOS 11 or newer, or Ubuntu 22.04 or newer, an x86-64 CPU with SSE4.1, two cores, and Vulkan 1.1 or Direct3D 11. The BIOS page says you dump the BIOS from a PlayStation 2 you own. The emulator does not include one, and this site will not point you at a BIOS download. The same rule covers the game image: dump The Ancient City from a disc you own.
The download page, read 7 Nov 2026, lists no Android build. A long-open request for Android is still a request. If you are on a phone, this is the wrong emulator. DuckStation is the one with an official Android app, and it only covers the PlayStation discs.
Settings that are about this game
The cleanhit FAQ is the community source for King's Field IV picture issues, and I mark it as one site. It says a current nightly runs the game at native resolution without a special hack. Above native, a high-resolution patch is required or liquids and the skybox draw seams. Older builds wanted manual hardware hacks, preload frame data, and skipdraw at 1:1. A widescreen pnach is discussed on the PCSX2 forums and is separate from the high-resolution patch. I do not paste patch files here.
Controls are the part people fight. The game has no twin-stick camera. Turn with the D-pad. Pitch the view with the triggers. The FAQ says a faster turn speed damages the combat, so I do not recommend a turbo setting. Five in-game maps still matter; emulation does not draw a new one for you. The region order is on the walkthrough. The opening undub is a different patch, on the undub page.

FAQ
Does PCSX2 include a BIOS?
No. The project tells you to dump a BIOS from your own PlayStation 2.
Why do water and the sky streak?
The cleanhit FAQ says that happens above native resolution unless the high-resolution patch is applied.
Can I look with the right stick?
Not as the game shipped. Turn on the D-pad and use the triggers for vertical look.
